What a busy month we had in third grade!   The students dissected owl pellets in science class to get a better understanding of food chains.  They watched caterpillars turn into butterflies and witnessed mealworms transform into beetles to culminate our study of life cycles.

The class read the book, Stone Fox, together and because the setting of the book was Wyoming, we researched Wyoming in social studies.  Some children said they would like to visit Wyoming now!  Our last days of school were spent acting out Reader’s Theater plays which the children really enjoyed.

We concluded our study of adverbs in English class.  The students used their knowledge of adjectives and adverbs to write and illustrate poems about spring which they proudly displayed in the hall for everyone to read.

I can’t believe this year is over!  Your positive attitudes toward your children’s education have been reflected in their enthusiasm and willingness to learn.  I will truly miss each and every one of them.  I would like to thank all of you for the support you gave me throughout the school year.  I am very proud of the progress the children have made.  Their Terra Nova scores were very impressive!  I will enjoy watching them reach out for challenges in the future.  Have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Karen Bogacki
